for Family Fun and Sport
Peter Chesson Memorial Classic Car Show to Be Held Sunday
Far Hills, New Jersey — April 24, 2023 — The Essex Horse Trials has become a tradition for families looking to spend an exciting and fun-filled weekend in their own backyard. This year the equestrian social calendar in North Jersey starts a little earlier with the event taking place June 3-4 at two iconic locations.
Saturday showcases Dressage and Show Jumping at Hamilton Farm, home of the USET Foundation Headquarters in Gladstone, NJ. The following day, Far Hills’ Moorland Farm plays host to a day full of horsepower with the thrilling cross-country phase, the finale of the horse trials. Sunday also features the popular Peter Chesson Memorial Classic Car Show with nearly a century of eye-popping automobiles on display.
“The Essex Horse Trials continues to be a great way for families to enjoy a weekend of outstanding equestrian sport at two beautiful venues,” said Co-organizer Ralph Jones. “This year we have added an Intermediate Division in addition to the Beginner Novice, Novice, Training and Preliminary divisions encouraging competitors of all levels to take part in this spectacular event.”
General admission is $20.00 per car/cash at the gate. Tailgating spots are available for the best viewing of the cross-country course at Moorland Farm. Packages range in cost from $50-$300 depending on location. For more info on tailgate packages and ringside sponsorships, please call 908-581-0514 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Essex Horse Trials is proud to present some of its major sponsors for 2023: Pure Insurance, Peapack Gladstone Bank and Running S Veterinary Services. Their generous support allows the Essex Horse Trials to remain as one of the favorite sporting events in New Jersey.
Proceeds from the Essex Horse Trials benefit the Greater Newark LifeCamp in nearby Pottersville, which provides an enriching day camp experience for approximately 300 Newark-area youths per day for six weeks during July and August.
